A Soldier’s Creed

I am an American Soldier.

I am a Warrior and a member of a team.

I serve the people of the United States, and live the military Values.

I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

The Nowata VFW have some great activities and news for May, 2009. Everyone knows that freedom is not free and the members of the VFW have gone to war for our freedom. We all owe them a debt of gratitude and support.

Mother’s Day Brunch

• Day: Saturday, May 9th
• Time: 10:00 am to 2:00pm
• Location: VFW 747 South Maple
• Cost: Mothers are FREE! All other adults $5.00, Children 11-3 $3.00, Children under 3 FREE.

The menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee and tea. Everyone bring all the Moms you know for a treat and help support the local VFW.

Continuing Education Scholarship Program

The local VFW will be awarding 3 scholarships this year to each of the High Schools in Nowata County-Nowata, Oklahoma Union and South Coffeyville. Each scholarship will be $250. Various fundraisers will be held throughout the year, so be sure to support those activities.
