Update: 2nd Saturday Clean-Up Days

Second Saturday Work Day-Nowata County Fairgrounds

Ten volunteers turned out to work at the Nowata County Fairgrounds, painting and cleaning in the north building . The group worked cleaning walls and floors, painting the walls, sanding and painting the metal doors and filling and taping off the floor cracks.

Two volunteers went to Double Creek Cove to finish painting the interior of the south bathrooms. Painting is now complete at Double Creek with all of the restrooms repainted inside and out, entrance sign painted, wood table tops replaced, boat dock poles and benches repainted.

At noon, the group was treated to charcoaled hamburgers, lemonade and homemade brownies at Jack Gordon Park. The volunteers crew included : Carroll Craun, Melanie Holdredge, Nancy Oglesby, Nita Wesson, George Briscoe, Jerry Roberson, Clay Marrs, Gage Milliman and Tom and Billie Roane

The May project will include finishing up the painting at the fairgrounds and working downtown removing the weeds and grass on the sidewalks. Anyone is welcome to come and work for a few hours making a difference in the appearance of Nowata and be treated to a picnic lunch. The day begins at 9:00am at the fairgrounds.
